I've seen quite a bit of discussion about the speaker quality on other sites, so it isn't just you.

I'm VERY disappointed, myself. My previous tablet is an HP TouchPad, running Android of course. The speakers are healthy, deep and loud on it. It is very sad that most Android tablet (and phone) makers refuse to even consider anything but the smallest, tiniest, and most tinny speakers and amps they can source.

Fetch was the only feature that made me choose Skydrive over Google Drive. I cancelled my skydrive subscription as soon as I learned that fetch was gone. The truth is, I preferred Google Drive for everything else anyway. Just that one feature was so great. But the great Google Drive feature is that I can view Illustrator and Photoshop files directly in the browser. So I'm back with Google Drive. Microsoft has really lost it's way. Those of us who were focused on productivity were always in Microsoft's corner. Windows 8 and 8.1 are an attempt to follow in the footsteps of what Apple has done with ipads, but it's really sacrificing the original Windows fanbase. It's a repeat of how Microsoft killed off Windows Mobile and went with Windows Phone which is the same as an iPhone, just with a different look.

The syrup bottles are made by a company called "Service Ideas, Inc". Unfortunately I don't think they're selling the containers right now, but they are selling the metallic caddy: http://www.serviceideas.com...

I completely agree - it's an "ignorance is bliss" type of flaw that I really wish Asus/Google had fixed before finalizing the hardware. The Nexus 7 is still really great, but with an extra fraction of a dollar for a better speaker amplifier it could have been nearly perfect.

I haven't seen a single other article mention the speaker static/fuzz. I'm so surprised that the bigger Android blogs didn't mention this anywhere in their review. It's weird, because most of the people that don't notice it, the second you point it out to them, it's all they hear.
It's an annoyance that people don't even realize they have yet.
